The results of assessment by the Schaefer and Fox's models applied to Tunisian's red Mullets shows that the stock is at the present time fully exploited. The total mortality of red Mullet estimated from the abundance index's and mean effort in the gulf of Tunis seems low (0,5 to 0,98). The estimation of natural mortality from different methods vary between 0,54 and 1. The results of analytical approach foresee the red Mullet's stock in under-exploited in terms of yield per recruit. In the global models as in the analytical model, the increase of effort does not involve into the production. The yield per recruit with the exploitation rate E = 0,5 could be raising the mesh size to 48 mm (stretched)
