A regular sampling was carried out a long the Tunisian coast (gulf of Tunis, gulf of Hammamet and gulf of Gabes) from january 2005 to decembre 2006 in order to study the biometric characters of the spottail mantis shrimp squilla mantis. The morphometric equations for this species in the gulf of gabes showed that the relative growth in size of telson and total weight compared to the cephalotorax length was characterised by a positive allometry; however the total size relative growth is negative. For the golf of Hammamet, the equations showed a negative allometry except that of the weigth and a negative one for the total size. The allometry is isometry for the telson. The appplication of equality test between linear regression coefficient for males and females in the gulf of Hammamet showed that the hypothesis of parallelism hypothesis can be accepted for all the relation except those of the total size according to the weigth.for the gulf of Tunis and the gulf of Gabes only the relation telson cephalotorax lengh is similar at the two sexes. The application of the bartlett-test and student -test showed that there is a significant difference between the three populations in this study
