This study which was realised in Bizerte lake (Tunisia) between April and June of 1999 concern the impact of the two parameters, the distance between the tufts and the initial weight of these tufts, on the output of Gracilaria verrucosa culture. It shows that the optimal conditions of this species can be summarised as follows : initial weight of 200 g, distance between the tuft of 30 cm and harvesting necessarily during the end of June. Under such conditions, the weight reach 1087 g, the specific rate growth is 2,20 and the final density is 3,74 kg / m super(2).
