The ability of lactic acid bacteria to produce bacteriocins with antibacterial activity, has gained a lot of interest in the improvement of food security and in the control of infectious diseases, enhancing the bacteria’s use in the control aquaria. The objective of this study was to demonstrate the antibacterial activity of Enterococcus sp and Leuconostoc sp (El Jeni et al., in press) lactic acid bacteria, against freshly isolated bacteria which according to the 16S gene sequences belong to the species Klebsiella oxytoca, Citrobacter citrobacter and Braakii freundi, respectively.
