Gabes Gulf (South-East of Tunisia) is a multi-species and multi-gear fishery area. About 75 % of the Tunisian trawlers number operate in this area. Production of the trawl fishing is diversified although only 2 types of gears are used : shrimp trawl and Mediterranean trawl (trawl with high vertical opening). A multivariable analysis (PCA and cluster analysis) carried out using one year data identified 11 trawling activities : Two(2) select crustaceans, two(2) catches shrimp, cuttlefish and fish, two(2) catch cephalopods, three (3) are oriented to the exploitation of fish and, finally two(2) activities exploited other species that having less commercial value. These fisheries are characterized by their typical composition and seasonality.
