Abstract

The present note signals for the first time, the presence of Tilapia, Tilapia rendalli in the marine waters of the gulf of Gabes. An important number of this species was observed in the waters of the fishing port of Gabes during September 2008. The presence of this species in the sea-waters is not common. In fact, through this note, we give a set of acquired data on the possible origin of this species.
