Abstract

The study of the reproduction of white sea bream Diplodus sargus cadenati, of Nouadhibou coast was carried out on 513 individuals with fork lengths ranging from 13.2 to 32.2 cm. This study showed that the laying period of this species extends from January to April, a period in which the average temperature of water is 18.4°c. The size (L50) at which 50% of the individuals are mature is 21.47 ± 0.45 cm Lf for males and 20.79 ± 0.55 cm for females. The study of the sex-ratio did not show predominance of the one or the other of the two sexes.
