Abstract

The authors have studied the sexuality and the reproduction of two sand smelt populations. The first originates from the marine area of Monastir, the second from Ichkeul Lake. The sex-ratio variations in relation to time and fish size have been analyzed. The size of first sexual maturity has been determined and the process of the sexual cycle has been described. Some divergences have been noticed between marine and lagoonal sand smelts.
