Abstract

Priacanthus hamrur (Forsskal, 1775) has been caught for the first time in the Mediterranean withen the Tunisian waters on 7 th April 1980. It is thought that this fish comes from the Red Sea and represents a new element which indicates the demographic blowing up of the lessepsian species within the Mediterranean. The author fears that Priacanthus hamrur being introduced within the Mediterranean medium enters in alimentary competition with the local species.
