Abstract

We describe in this work the phenomenon of appearance of "red tides"(red water) in the gulf of Gabes (south of Tunisia) in summer 1988. The analysis of samples taken from colored area shows that the phenomenon is particularly linked to severe conditions enregistred at begenning of summer in this region.
