Abstract

A bermuda sea chub fish Kyphosus sectatrix captured at a depth of 6 meters in front of the locality of Salakta, on January 2005. It constitutes a new addition to the Tunisian fish fauna. Kyphosus sectatrix is an Atlantic specie, has been rarely reported from the Mediterranean sea, and never from the Tunisian water. The principal characteristics of the specimen are given.
