Abstract

In order to evaluate the regeneration potential of Gracilaria verrucosa, an experimental culture was conducded in the Bizerte lake on tight rope on the substrate. The initial weight of tufts was 200 g. After four months of culture, between February and May 2003, the ropes were submissive at one, two, three or four cutting. The statistical analysis show that the best situation concerns the tufts collected only at the end of May; in this case, these tufts have 1771,4 g for weight and 1,8 for specific growth rate.
