A male of the Northern brown shrimp Penaeus aztecus Ives, 1891, a West Atlantic species, were unexpectedly caught by bottom trawler along the Northern coast of Tunisia (Central Mediterranean). This atlantic species was landed during a fishing survey of deep water rose shrimp Parapenaeus longirostris, later July 2020. Based on the literature review and recent information, the range of the exotic brown shrimp Penaeus aztecus in the Mediterranean Sea was thus presented.
