The examination of 115 teleost fishes (45 Lithognathus mormyrus and 70 Sparus aurata) from the Ghar El Melh lagoon (North east of Tunisia), allowed us to note, for the first time, the presence of 6 species of trematodes belonging to three different families : Fellodistomidae (Proctoeces maculatus), Lepocreadiidae (Holorchis pycnoporus) and Opecoelidae (Macvicaria maillardi, Macvicaria mormyri, Macvicaria obavata and Allopodocotyle pedicellata), one nematode species belonging to the family of Anisakidae (Hysterothylacium fabri) and one larval cestode (Tetraphyllidae larvae). The spatial distribution of digenean species within the digestive tract and their evolutionary dynamics in their hosts were studied; a comparative study between the results available on our coasts than in other areas of the Mediterranean has been done.
