This is the first time that this subject is studied in Tunisian coastal waters. Preliminary results revealed that of 19 species of crabs studied, 14 carried either Protozoa or Metazoa parasites, or both. Four species of Gregarinia porosporidae were discovered again; two hosts were new for Nematopsis maraisi. A new species to science was discovered Nematopsis raoudi n.sp., a parasite of Portumnus latipes. Two species of Gregarinia cephaloidophoridae were observed and the systematic position of one of them ,a parasite of Dromia personata, is specified. Six new hosts are noted for Coccidian (genus Aggregata), eight for Synophrya hypertrophica (Ciliata), two for larvae of Cestoda (Tetraphyllidae) and one for Bopyridae (Crustacae, Epicaridea).
