Abstract

During April 1988 to December 1989 a twice a month sampling was carried out in the aim to study the sexual cycle of Tapes decussatus (Bivalvia) in Tunis canal. The ponderal cycle and a practical maturity scale were identified the periods of gamete emission. Principal spawning is begining of June to August-September and two secondary spawning arising, the first is in May and the second is in autumn first spring. The length of shell of T.decussatus at first sexual maturity was determined. She was 30 mm of antero-posterior length.
