Abstract

The coastal area are more and more affected by the increasing anthropic activities and nutriment inputs,
coming from the catchment area. Macrofauna populations show different reactions in front of such
conditions, and therefore constitute an effective tool to detect the first signs of eutrophication and
perturbation of the area The model of « écologie groups and biotic indices » was used It shows that the
whole eastern part of the Morbihan gulf is impacted by the perturbation, and its benthic macrofauna
assemblages are perturbed as shown by the increasing dominance of, firstly, tolerent species and.
secondly, opportunistic species. This indicates strong unballance of the macrofauna assemblages.
