Abstract

Particle size analysis of surface sediments shows that underwater beach is lined by means of sand and purposes, generally well, moderately well sorted and classified. The particle size distribution of surface sediments along a transverse profile of the coast to offshore, to 25 m depth shows a grano-ranking decreasing from the coast out to sea. Means sands are located in the shallow (2m). Fine sands are located between 5 and 25m with the exception of samples collected at the contour -20 m which show an average particle size. The presence of these means grains at that depth can be explained by a current direction NW / SE and responsible disposal of fine sediments. The mineralogical analyzes show that these sands are composed of two main minerals are quartz and calcite, the magnesium calcite and aragonite, in small proportions.
