Abstract

The Gadidae are represented by (1) Trisopterus minutus capelanus , frequent at 100-200 m depth in the Gulf of Tunis and associated with Cnidaria and Echinoidea, (2) Micromesistius poutassou associated with benthic species, (3) Gadiculus argenteus common along the northern, eastern and southern coasts associated with benthic fauna, (4) Physis blennoides , a large bathymetric species and (5) Phycis phycis rarely found along Tunisian coasts.
