Abstract

The study of linear growth of the Silverside, Atherina boyeri, is carried out on three lagoons in the Roussillon (France) after separating the year classes by means of scales examinations. The winter rings are described. The growth is very fast during the early five months, but it is almost stopped during the winter. The lifespan of this Silverside is about two years long. The samples of Bourdigou is studied by means of the Harding's graphical analysis; it is shown that this population consists of four groups whose migrations allows us to set the question of the lagunar phase of this species.
