Abstract

This work consists of a comparative study of zootechnic performances essentially the growth of the sharpsnout sea bream Puntazzo puntazzo and gilthead sea-bream (Sparus aurata). This study lasted 379 days and it was made from individual fish caught in a natural environment. The food used in this work is a locally made semi dry pellet. The outcomes of the global analyses established for each species concerning the growth, the nutrition and the rate of food transformation are nearly comparative. So, their evolution during rearing is variable and different from one species to another. The evolution of the growth in relation with the conditions of seasonal temperature has shown: the sharpsnout sea bream presents a potential of growth more important than the gilthead sea-bream during the cold periods of the year (November - April). The sharpsnout sea bream grows less during the other periods of the year (April - October)
