La croissance absolue de Mytilus galloprovincialis dans le lac de Bizerte : relation taille/ âge dans les stations d’élevage

Abstract

The relation length - age of Mytilus galloprovincialis is compared in 3 sites of Bizerte lake (Tunisia). The study is based on the analysis of frequencies distribution of mussel's size from october 1994 to september 1995. The growth of the new cohort identified allows to establish Von Bertalanffy's model (1938). The parameters of equations are comparable in suspended cultivation in Menzel Jemil. Mussel's growth in the third station is low. Results obtained put in evidence the importance of choice of site and process of farming in mussel cultivation.
