Abstract

The examination of 364 M.ramada and 236 M.labrosus from Tunis lake (north) permits the establishment of theoretical growth curves for these two species. At the same length, the body weight of M.labrosus is greater than that of M.ramada. For M.ramada the asymptotic size calculated (t = 318,46 mm) approaches the maximum size given for this species in the Mediterranean (Lst max = 410 mm) while that for M.labrosis is clearly inferior (L = 373 46 mm and Lst max = 550 mm).
